Hello and welcome!

Hello! I am so thrilled to finally be putting Poppyseed Bouquet Illustration in motion! Thank you for stopping by! And here’s how we got started…

I am Tracy - and I have owned Red Poppy Floral Design in Ann Arbor, Michigan for nearly 8 years. I have loved having a very small business and working through the creative, collaborative process of designing wedding flowers one couple at a time. My floral design business has grown along with me and my family - we have 2 young children - and it has been a joy to have a little one in the bouncy chair while I’m designing or pushing a stroller to the farmer’s market to pick up some beautiful local flowers. The relationships and people I’ve met along the way have been amazing. Just amazing. I have got to know so many wonderful families who have shared such special moments with me and with whom I’ve been able to celebrate their most joyous family moments. It is a wonderful privilege to get to be a part of something so special.

All the time clients ask about ways to preserve their bouquet in the days after a wedding. Once a mother of the bride texted me enthusiastically at 1 am about how much they loved the flowers and desperately wanted to find a way to preserve the bride’s bouquet! Somewhere along the way the seed was planted that to find a special way to preserve the joy of wedding flowers.

Traditional wedding bouquet preservation usually involves drying or pressing flowers, and there is a lovely classic, vintage feel to these pressed prints. But one of the challenges with preserving flowers this way is that the color and the texture can be quite different than the original bouquet.

Around my house I have so many flower prints and patterns - from Liberty of London, Rifle Paper Co., Cath Kidston, Target! - contemporary, full of color - clearly I have been drawn in to these kinds of prints over and over again. And everyone else seems to have floral prints in their decor. So the idea was born to create contemporary floral illustrations based on your wedding flowers. A contemporary way to preserve your wedding bouquet in a bold, art print full of color. The kind of print you would love for your home decor, and it also happens to be your very own wedding flowers

I hope that we are creating something that you will love for years to come - a special anniversary gift that creates a special memory and sparks joy often. I hope that you’ll love these prints as much as we are loving creating them!
