Spring wedding bouquet illustration | modern bouquet preservation | holiday gift
It was so special to illustrate this beautiful spring wedding bouquet for a dear friend. This is such a beautiful design with spring and summer blooms in soft lavender, mauve, soft pinks and gardeny foliages. The blue thistles and striped tulips stood out softly on a bed of snapdragons and roses and dahlias. This one was a special Christmas gift from the bride’s sister, a dear friend of mine, and it was so special to get to do this!
Mother’s wedding bouquet illustration
Yes, we can do illustrations of your mother’s or grandmother’s bouquet! It was such a joy to create this bouquet illustration from nearly a bouquet nearly 50 years ago - a print both classic and modern, and a special wedding memory that will hang next to her daughters’ two wedding bouquets. So special to create this multi-generational heirloom that can be enjoyed everyday. This print was a special Christmas gift surprise, and we were co grateful to be asked to do it! The lovely clouds of babies’ breath reminded me that everything old is new again in floral design. For awhile babies breath was in everything, and then no one wanted it, and now lush clouds of babies breath are in style again. It kinds of makes all floral feel a bit timeless - something falls out of fashion for a bit and then comes back in again… like carnations making a comeback at the moment!

Modern bouquet preservation | wedding flower prints by Poppyseed Bouquet Illustration
It was so beautiful illustrating Sally’s bouquet from her beautiful winter wedding in Ann Arbor. There were so many lovely details in this print - the dark green tones of the camellia foliage with paler camellia buds, the minty tones of the eucalyptus foliage and seeds, the blush and cream tones of the roses, the raspberry tones of the snapdragons, and that one crimson mini carnation in the middle. It was such a soft, seasonal combination with just the right amount of texture to feel special. After the bouquet was illustrated, I found this very subtle blush background highlighted the cream and white elements nicely.
